In Oh, the Places You'll Go!, Dr. Seuss is just a little bit depressed. "Life's a great balancing act," he says; it mixes 'soaring' with 'slumps' and the ever-loathsome 'just waiting around,' not to mention loneliness. The book's wisdom is more in tune with adolescence and middle age than early childhood, but the drawings, colors, and rhymes exercise the familiar Seuss charm on all ages.
